“This nigga really got a bad leg,” Lil Wayne joked seconds after his protégé Drake re-injured his leg after a fall at the America’s Most Wanted tour stop in Camden, New Jersey. “I thought this shit way only on his TV show,” Weezy added, hinting at Drake’s wheelchair-bound character on Degrassi: The Next Generation. As Drake’s publicist exclusively tells Rock Daily, Drake really does have a bad leg: The up-and-coming MC is undergoing surgery to repair his torn ACL within the next few days, with a rest and recovery period of six to 10 weeks planned following the operation.

For over a month, Drake has been saddled by a torn ACL, with the rapper posting on his Twitter on June 25th “Word of advice…dont tear your ACL…its quite painful…who wants to bring me ice packs?” Still, he managed to work through the pain. According to Drake’s publicist, the “Best I Ever Had” star was cautious when onstage and was receiving acupuncture treatments to keep the swelling down, but the fall in Camden effectively ensured that Drake won’t be touring — or walking — for a little while.
