  • Chris Brown’s formal sentencing, which was expected yesterday in L.A., has been delayed until August 27th, the AP reports, because the judge wants to be certain the singer will perform community “labor” rather than “service” in his home state of Virginia.

  • Britney Spears will perform at Monday night’s Teen Choice Awards, her official Website announced today. The Jonas Brothers will host the ceremony, which airs on Fox at 8 p.m.
  • Sun Records legend Billy Lee Riley has died at age 75 after a battle with colon cancer, Variety reports. Riley recorded with the Beach Boys and Sammy Davis Jr. as a studio player, but was best known for his singles “Red Hot” and “Flyin’ Saucers Rock & Roll.”
  • Reality Killed the Video Star, Robbie Williams’ first new LP in three years, is due November 9th, and features a song he reworked after Michael Jackson’s death, Reuters reports.
  • Basement Jaxx will return October 6th with their fifth album Scars. Yoko Ono, Yo Majesty, Santigold and Sam Sparro guest, according to an official press release.
