The U2 frontman’s countdown includes an arts festival celebrating Judaism, Christianity and Islam; immunizing with rotavirus vaccines; and greener, sexier cars.
- Former Remy Zero drummer Gregory Slay has died at age 40. The cause was cystic fibrosis, Spinner reports. After the band split in 2003, Slay won an Emmy for the theme to Nip/Tuck. “Gregory inspired all who had the chance to see him perform, to hear the music that he made or just to be around his bountiful spirit,” the band said in a statement.
- Duran Duran, Devendra Banhart, John Frusciante and more artists have been booked to play on a David Bowie tribute disc, according to TwentyFourBit. The May release will benefit War Child.
- The U.K.’s next edition of Celebrity Big Brother has a handful of music names in the mix: Lady Sovereign, Sisqo and Ronnie Wood’s ex-girlfriend Ekaterina Ivanova, who called the Rolling Stone “still a friend” in an interview despite an alteracation last month, the NME reports.
