Rolling Stone has confirmed that Steven Tyler fired his new management team and signed with Mötley Crüe and Buckcherry’s managers Allen Kovac and Eric Sherman at 10th Street Entertainment. Less than a year ago Tyler parted ways with Aerosmith manager Trudy Green and signed with John Greenberg and Jason Flom at Union Entertainment Group. The move enraged his bandmates. “It just kind of splits up the tribe,” Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer told Rolling Stone last month. “Then you have two different camps to go back and forth from and it really confuses things.”

According to Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford, Tyler had been threatening to hire his own manager for years. “I was always like, ‘Well, stop talking about it if you feel like you need someone else to represent you, do it, get it done,’ ” Whitford said. “It was always put in the context of a threat which was not understandable on my part.” Relations between Tyler and Aerosmith worsened this year when the singer informed his band that he needed a two-year break to work on “Brand Tyler.” Aerosmith says they aren’t going to wait for him and are seeking a new singer.
