Beastie Boys’ Adam Yauch says that he’s “doing all right” after his battle with salivary gland cancer in a new interview on Gothamist, with the man we call MCA also giving an update on the status of the Beasties’ album The Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 1. “We’re just figuring that out right now. But hopefully, it looks like it’ll be coming out early part of next year,” Yauch said. “I don’t know that it’s official yet, but that seems to be the direction we’re moving in.”

As Rolling Stone previously reported, the Beasties had to cancel performances at All Points West and Austin City Limits as well as postpone the release of Hot Sauce from September 15th to an unspecified 2010 date when Yauch underwent treatment to combat the cancer. Instead of offering up more details regarding Hot Sauce in his Gothamist interview, MCA opted instead to focus on his Oscilloscope Laboratories film production company and their new Circle of Trust subscription service, which will send the next 10 DVDs distributed by the company to subscribers for $150.
Among the films that Oscilloscope has produced or distributed thus far include the Oscar-nominated doc The Garden, Wendy and Lucy and The Messenger, which earned actor Woody Harrelson a Golden Globe supporting actor nod, a National Board of Review award and a rave review from Rolling Stone movie critic Peter Travers. Yauch’s own doc Gunnin’ For That #1 Spot, about basketball prospects hoping to become the first pick in the NBA Draft, was also released via Oscilloscope.
