If it seems like Mariah Carey fans have caught more glimpses of the superstar on the big screen in Precious and on Eminem dis tracks than onstage lately, it’s with good reason: Carey has yet to tour in support of her latest release, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, and she didn’t hit the road in support last year’s E=MC² — which was released as her relationship with now-hubby Nick Cannon heated up — either. But now, the long wait is over, as Carey has revealed plans for an eight-week, 19-city tour that’ll be preceded by a New Year’s Eve gig at New York’s fabled Madison Square Garden.
The Angels Advocate Tour officially gets underway January 2nd in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Mariah will be on the road through February 27th in Las Vegas, with the tour making stops in Atlanta, Detroit, Boston, Chicago, Dallas and Los Angeles.
Honey B. Fly, the official Mariah Carey Fan Club, is offering exclusive member pre-sales for all show dates. If you want to ring in the new decade with Mimi, you can order your tickets now. All other tickets go on sale December 19th. Openers for the trek will be RydazNrtist, an R&B group signed to Cannon’s NCredible Entertainment.
